Wolfies

Mine are about -8mm or .3inch out but there's plenty of clearance and most of my other wheels are zero offset.

IIRC my ones are marked .31 out.

With 225/60/14 they needed a little adjusting to the inside lip of the rear arches with some tyres to avoid touching over bumps. I don't think there were any problems fouling standard springs.

This was on a late 260Z, so I assume the 240Z would be the same

Thanks Guys.

I have a set of my old TR6 and I think they are the same PCD.

Just need to check the offset

i picked up a set of F1 alloys a while back they look like minilites
the fronts are 6 - JJ x14 with -16 printed on the back
the rears are 7 - JJ x14 with -28
:S30:
so im now wondering after whats been posted
can i put 235 60 14 tyres on the rear without making arch adjustments:smash:
or using wheel spacers

what is your backspacing ? measure from the mounting face of the wheel to the rear outer rim to give you an idea ,i would have thought it will be about 90mm-110mm ,you can then compare with a standard wheel.

the measurement is indeed 110mm on the new said wheel which compares to 105mm from the mounted wheel. so there isnt much in it , although with the extra tyre width its going to get alot closer to the inside wall of the car dont you think

with the tyre mounted on the rear and the back end jacked up with a standard wheel fitted ,how much clearence do you have to the rear strut leg and lower spring seat.
if you can measure from the mounting face again but to the front rim just to see,it should work out what ever it is, that it is - or + 28 compared to 110 ,if you get what i mean,

the first part will have to wait till prob 2mro
the measurement from mounting plate to front rim is about 95mm

The problem I had with the tyres touching was where the sidewall curved out. The BFGs caught slightly but they did have raised letters, where the Yokos didn't as they had a squarer sidewall.

I would have said that with another 5mm width in the tyre it is likely to touch on the arch with .31 out wheels. I think that the .31 equates to +8mm so -28 would move the tyre out towards the arch by 20mm, in which case...

Note could someone check these figures as I usually end up getting my plus and minus offsets mixed up.:)

The other thing is that 235/60 will increase the rolling radius from standard which will mean that the speedo will be out.

I don't have this particular problem now as mine has extended arches. I do however need to find some 8 x 15s with the right offset to sit in the flared arch -

I feel a headache coming on:smash:

clearence to the rear strut leg and lower spring seat is 30mm
and measurement from the mounting face again but to the front rim was about 95mm

yes the difference is 1.4% so when your doin 60mph on the clock your speed is 60.9mph on the road which i could live with

ive had the new new wheel on the car this evening and it does stick out a good bit more than stock ,

looking at your picture, the wheel looks like it is negative 28 which will make the wheel go further out on the car.what you could do is fit the front tyre to rear wheel as i presume you will not be using 235 on the front and then you can see how it fits with a tyre and the car not on a jack.it is a bit of messing about but it saves fitting a 235 to find out it will not fit.

Peter i hope this might be of some help, even that they are not wolfies, these rims are -10 mm offset 7X14 with 195/70X14 tires

Chris

Yes i know, shitty photos
