Wiring Looms

Is there a supplier of new wiring looms for 240z-280z's ? Alternatively, who can supply the correct colour coded wires and is there a call-off schedule (i.e. length of wires required by colour code) in existence for DIY'ers ? Also, what about connectors - who can supply these ?

Sadly, I think the answer to all questions is NO. Nissan were obviously the original suppliers and the plugs are Nissan specific (and very varied) and were never available separately. No aftermarket supplier has ever attempted the task and the looms are quite variable year to year (260Z particularly).

If you need a complete loom then you are best of getting one from a breaker but if you just need to add or replace bits of it then it is not as daunting as you think to make it up yourself. you just need time and patience. ben

It is pretty rare to get a good and unmolested wiring loom out of a thirty year old breaker, particularly the front end part that has suffered the ravages of the UK weather for all that time and had spotlights, air-horns and Knight Rider LEDs spliced into it and removed as the years have passed......

Dashboard looms and body looms are better, but then this bit is probably OK in your own car anyway!

Not too many 1970 cars have been broken in the UK, which is probably what Dave needs!!! &nbsp;Mmhm! I wonder wot is in my garden shed? Must ave a look! <img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

If you are desperately in need of a new loom and could provide me with the old one I could make one up. Couldn't tell you how much though. If you're &nbsp;wondering if I'm quallified for this I can tell you that I'm an aircraft electrician and I do have access to good facilties.

Other Z owners may be forming &nbsp;a queue if this comes off - keep me posted.
BTW, for 280ZX owners I have tons of NEW wiring loom sections available from stock, very cheap!
