Has anyone ever put wire wheels on a 240 / 260 ??..(or even a 280)............is there a conversion kit or someit??....the Ferrari kit looks stunning with them just wondered if my 260 would look cool....

Ta,Si.

Here is a pic of some Dunlop wire wheels fitted to a 260 that I did some work on a while ago. They just bolt on to the regular studs so there is no need for splined hubs etc.

ta guys...pic looks v.good...I think IF i did it i'd go for as early as poss looking ones, 15"....any idea where i'd buy an adaptor?...or in fact wheels!"?

Cheers,Si.

hi ref wire wheel adaptors. they are available from MOSS or MOTOR WHEEL SERVICES, they look much better with knock off spinners than bolt ons, wheels painted or chrome are from same source cheers brian

Be prepared for a really heavy wheel/tyre installation that is hard to balance and feels c**p in use. Ask the owners of 250 GTO replicas who have followed the route of wires on adapters...

Hi Guys,

I actually sell these wire wheels and adapters here in Spain. The parts are really quite expensive but if necesary I could open the doors with my UK supplier ...............

The problems that Mr F mentioned about balancing relate to the way that you have to attach the wheel to a balancing machine. I can e mail the proper instructiones on how to balance these wheels if neccesary.

My thoughts is that wire wheels are fine on obsolete British rubbish and a Z should run tasty alloys and sticky Yokohama rubber !
