Just seen the flashing orange light of the "gritter lorry" go past at the end of the road. So I'm going to put the car cover over my 240Z and leave him to rest safely in the garage till the spring rain wahes all the killer salt away!
So it will be the joys of Peugot Diesel motoring for me for the next 5 months. Help! I feel depressed already. Anyone got a few spare Prozac???

Hi pmac,
Well i do have a drive but don't have a garage ,so for us ,,we have to keep the 300 on the road all year round so the killer doesn't do as much damage as what it would gluing it to the drive, been there before and dont want to go through that again,,ouch,we've have had salt on our roads up here for around a week now as the snow has touched us breafly, but it WILL be back real soon.

Hi,
My 300ZX has been parked up for the last month due to a lack of road tax.It will stay there in the garage still spring now. The've been gritting for the last week round here and the roundabout off the M40 is white with salt!
When I had my previous z31 I used it every day for work, all year round, with a jet wash evey weekend to keep the salt at bay.
It's a shame that they grit the roads so early as the weather is otherwise ideal for a nice autumn blast in the sunshine!

Move South, it's warmer, less salt. Not too far though as that'll be near the sea instead.

Tried again last night, this time the first thing I noticed was that the thread starter wasn't always right.

Back to the man to fix his fixes...

Oh which reminds me I had another idea for the magazine, most mags have a spanner monkey section on jobs you can do yourself or whatever, think Classic Bike Magazine and beards. Anyway I don't have a car myself but wouldn't mind collating or working with someone on a little 2 page bit. You have the car, do the work, take the photos, I'll do the writing etc.

Might be an idea?

I wish I could get away with working on the Z club site from work, unfortunately I'm really pushing my luck posting, oh well if I get sacked I'll have LOADS of time for the club But no money to buy a Z... hmmm

Back to work.

Spanner Monkey!?

I've just purchased a 260z red, which I thought to be underpriced! the Idea being to sell it on, make a bit of profit, of which to pay for the 260z blue in OZ, to be shipped over!.....thats the plan, mad maybe but I think it might work.

But the 260z red, needs work on the automatic choke!! or something as it won't start at first, untill I squirt easy start in it.....god bless easy start!....once running it's fine other than a few splutters, due to an old needle in carb' so I've been told!....Now...I Know diddlely squat about engines...OK I know a little...It's usually found at the front of the car, and goes brum bruum!...

I'd be interested in the spanner monkey topic, although I don't have beard. if your interested you could tell me what to do ,I could take photo's etc and report back, or something along those lines......just a suggestion!.....If not...then could you tell me of a good mechanic around sheffield.

cheers

I know Burton on Trent is not exactly a suburb of Sheffield but I can recomend a good mechanic there(with Zed experience). Same applies to Coalville.Good spanner man with Zed experience. Im just outside Nottingham, but dont qualify for the description "good mechanic". Im just the bloke who chops Zeds up for spares!!
