Webasto sunroof

Has anyone had any experience of renovating Webasto sunroofs?

Embarassingly the outer black vinyl covering decided to detach itself as I was "gently keeping abreast" of an Audi TT on an otherwise empty motorway.

The outer cover is now held together with tape - and that reallly lets the whole car down.

Any tips on how to go about fixing this?

I too would be very interested in this as my 73 240Z has a britax fold back vinyl roof and whilst it is in very good condition now, who knows what will happen in a few months.

There are specialists who can completely refurbish Webasto roofs. This contact might be out of date, but I had one done for a customer by Peter Harvey, tel. 0207 231 0101. An excellent job that looked like a new installation when refitted.

A more up to date link is Tudor Webasto Sunroofs at R & S Coachbuilts (sic) : tel. 0208 858 4312.

Please note that "Peter Harvey" is no longer on 0207 231 0101... but a slightly annoyed woman is.

btw Tudor Webasto Sunroofs can and will build & fit a new period Webasto sunroof... but at a hefty cost of approx £900... for that sort of money I'd consider removing the sunroof and getting a panel welded in.

If anyone hears of a vinyl roof going cheap, or knows someone who can recover an existing one, I'd be grateful if they'd contact me.
