I've already asked this with no reply so here goes again !

How many website members are there and how many website members are full Z Club members ?

Thankyou.

Hi Sean,

The first part of your question is easier to answer then the second part. At present (21.01.04), there are 908 registered web members, counted from the members page of this site.

The second part of your question is harder to establish since currently their is no real way of telling who is who. Primarily due to the fact that anyone can register and not all members who are paying members of the club leave their Z Club membership number in their signature. Also at the moment, there is no need for a checking procedure to ensure that the Z Club Member Numbers displayed are still valid.

In the future, depending on what the Committee decide, it may be much easier to answer that question. Paying members could be emailed a special access code to set up their personal access to this web site and thus a list of paying members using this web facility could be created.

Do You Believe This !!! Grrrr,, I was pulled over this afternoon on my way home from work by the local police force,,,,they asked me if I had been exceeding the speed limit ( I hadn't) 40 mph all the way. The kindly officer then said as he walked back to his car ,,,and I quote " ugly car fur an ugly canuck" I felt like crap for not having it out with him, but can't take chances as my right of permenant residence is due in march and trouble with police et al is a no no. Just thought I'd say here and now that I don't mind being called an ugly Canadian,,,but that officer is gonna get one hell of an earfull about calling my Z31 ugly come the 14th March !!!! back on topic after venting my spleen,, membership # 567 and I would think it fairly easy to ask all paid full members to log into a specific area of the site with their membership details. It may take awhile but we would be there eventually!
P.S. Sorry about the venting and Ranting,,,jus kinda P.O'd about the police here! ( is this normal by the way for public officials to be so ,,,,"ugly" )

Sorry to hear about your run in C.W. - I never had that sort of s**t but times change and maybe the reference was more for you than the car - do you feel better now ?

Don't expect anyone to voluntarily help with a scheme like yours - how many viewings do some mails get asking for feedback compared with the qty of people who do ?

Hi,
The reality is, that out of 900 or so registered site "members" there are only about a dozen (a non-metric measurement;) ) who are really active and post regularly....it's just that they view each thread several times a day, each! :D

If people paid, they would feel more inclined to get their moneys worth ! And if they didn't, they'd still have all the clubs services and magazine !

And yes, I know Mr Burns likes to see his 'ratings' rise so he views his 30 times a day !

A club member password is open to 'abuse' and not the most ideal solution.

What you need is an online list of members who have paid up.

I can make it all work easily enough.

Everytime a member pays up someone hits a button and they get a 12month extension to their privaleges. Simple.

The simple way to do it, is to set up another Member Group in the admin panel of this software, and then set-up a seperate 'Paid Members Only' forum section. It gives paid members the impression they're special too.

Anyway, ignore the moaners Russ, you'll find any amount of those on any forum anywhere. Well done in setting up the site in the first place. For me at least, it's the perfect place to source my first Z, when previously all I had was the faint glimmer of an Aussie import!

Moaners are great! At least they bother to post :D

Yes that is simple and I've already done it, it's the maintenance of who is in which group that's the time consuming part :)

Hey yob, sorry eob, who're you calling a moaner ? This is a constructive thought process - a forum. If you don't agree with what's said, you have here the right to moan back !

Who are the moaners? lol Me and Sean???

We are only trying to add constructive comments to improve the club.

I am sure I can speak for Sean in saying that we did not intend to come across as moaners.

Oh no, there I go again now moaning about not being a moaner. :D

Let's not be too hard on him George. He's timid really - he joined in June 2002 and has already 2 posts to his credit ! Hardly worth paying for internet access !
