Voltage Gauge and Light

Hi,
I had an interesting situation this morning.The voltage gauge is showing the usual 14ish volts when driving but the small red light on the voltmeter is glowing dimly. Has any one any ideas what is going on.

Whilst on the subject of electrics, does anyone know where the relay for the sidelights is situated? When I turn on the headlights they come on but it sometimes takes a minute before the sidelights and dash get illuminated.

Hi Andy, as far s I know there isnt a relay for the sidelights the problem is in the switch fairly common fault. Take the switch off and you can see the contacts on the back and give them a clean, the early type switch has a small plastic cover over the terminals which pops off for access, if you need another switch I have both types in stock.
Could be regulator problem making light glow.
