Turbo time

Depending on how you want to do it you could rewire the fuel pump to run from auxillary position on the ignition switch this would allow your pump to prime the system as you turn the key round to start and keep the pump running untill you switch off the engine, only trouble being you have no fule shut off as Mike has already stated..

Good luck and keep us updated..

Nick..

Cheers guys

I had a horrible feeling it was to do with that little box. I have two wiring diagrams in front of me (Nissan's own), one of the 1984 model and one of the 1986 model and can see the differences, wiring is not one of my strong points but I want the car to run as it should do. If you hear nothing for a week then please send a rescue party as I'll probably be trapped somewhere in the loom (or hanging from it:D ).

Hi mick hope all goes well with the wiring, if i can get a pass i might pop down over the weekend

Hi Niell

Would be good to see you, try not to look shocked if you do come cause I think I've aged 20 years since deciding I needed turbo power. In the long dark hours I've opted to go for a kind of Vulcan Loom Meld and think I'm getting somewhere, but Dr Spock I'm not. I feel more like Marty Feldman which is probably due to staring at wiring diagrams for too long.
I'm working Saturday till 3'ish and then the weekend is my own.
This may make you laugh, but my lovely old Senator has got to go. Its a big car but is not doing well as a van, I've put off having a van for ages because of the driving involved with work and who wants to spend a large portion of the day stuck in something that does 0-60 in 20 seconds?. SO:) today I got myself a twin wheel transit that is just begging for the spare turbo engine I've got. Mmmmmm wonder if I could adapt the pop up headlamps to fit, and what will it be called? A Ford Transtar? or a Nissan Cabsit? Suggestions welcome:D

:) :)

Finally she runs! and she runs very well. Unfortunately the engine hasnt been started for years and has undergone a partial rebuild, so I'm going to run it in for a bit. Its frustrating but better than risking all the hard work and I want to make the next run at Santa Pod.
Big clean up job now on the car and at home, despite all the precautions theres oily hand prints everywhere. Last night I went for a blast round the the town and even covered in muck she still turned heads, the turbo has reduced the noise from the exhaust considerably so I'm wondering if I could get away with removing the middle box? has anyone run one of these with a straight through system?
Pictures coming soon

had a straight through system on my silvia Turbo and it wasnt too loud at all, give it a go, should be fine and will give you more power. You could hear the turbo spinning up when you were behind the Silvia which sounded awesome.

Nice one Mick, sorry i didnt get down over the weekend but been very busy with work so had to spend time at home, i will ring you at the weekend

Neil
