Torque of the 280!

Hi,
Went for a roundabout drive this evening to put some air in the tyres at the local petrol station....As my tyre air compressor has broken.
Whilst waiting for my turn at the air hose, a guy walked up and said...

"Nice car man!....Is it a Pontiac?...You know, a Trans-Am!"

"No it's a Datsun...A 280ZX!"

"Oh?...Nice car anyway and love the metallic brown too!"

On the way home I mistakenly managed to pull away from some traffic lights on an uphill incline in 3rd gear...with no problem at all!....Can't believe how torquey the engine is!

In the past (but not in the Sam) I've been known to go from 1st to 5th on a flat road & it would carry on pulling but in a 240/260.

Its feels good that people always ask about your car. I Always get asked at petrol stations and mine caused a row betwwen a couple because he said it was 'real car' and she said it was s***!!!!! She stormed off and left him standing!
