The Price Of Originality

Hello Everyone, New to this forum having just rediscovered the 240Z. (I am now looking to get one) Really impressed with the restorations detailed here, which brings me to my question. There is a black 240Z, RHD, on sale right now, but it has several 'additions' which I would prefer to take back to standard. Does this make these cars non-viable? Is it a members car perhaps. Any thoughts most welcome. Cheers.

Is it the £25k one on ebay?

There's a thread on it on here somewhere ...

Can't remember what the additions are if this is the car in question. Nothing is irreversible on a car though - it's all down to cost. It's only original once, or whatever the saying is ...

Hi UK66. Yes. It's now no reserve and looks really tidy but so it's trying to gauge the balance between tidy and modified or scruffy and original:confused:

It has gone off ebay now, bids where cancelled.

If you are after a standard car why not consider that low milage 260Z that is going up for auction. or if it has to be a 240Z you are welcome to view mine.

Only you can decide but you do need to see this car in the flesh before a bid. A handful of years ago, it was a rusty, unloved car for sale for a fifth of this price. Since then it's had some bodywork and a respray and probably lots more besides. My view of a black car is that they look great when they're new, but as they get older ...

Without going and having an exhaustive trawl back at the eBay pics, I seem to remember under the bonnet wasn't too great for the money being asked. Yes, it's a RHD car and they're making the money of course, but it's (to me) a lot to pay for THIS car ... Whatever you pay, you need to see it and see the quality of the work done to it.

edit: sold outside eBay then I guess

Samuri240-Just re-read and thanks for offer of view. Love to see a picture but I think Shropshire is a bit far at the moment. (North of Watford I think!)
Franky & Sean thanks for pointers. Will proceed with caution! Cheers, Dave.

Hi Dave You can see 3 pics of the car in my gallery on here soon after I bought it, since then I have gathered many rare & special parts to build my dream Z , it has been sat in the garage for 9 years now but due to big changes in my life over recent times I cannot see me ever doing anything with it now.

Hi Samuri240, I assume it's the orange one? Fantastic! You have to be a proud man!

It is actually red probably my s**t pics, proud man ? .The car is doing no good sat where it is & now will have nothing done by me because I lost my stuffing. I have 3 options sell as is. get it road worthy then sell or paint it 2 tone & stick it an auction.

Its a great shame but life is life while we are so fortunate to have it

Have a look at the 240 and a late 260 .reason I say this is the early 260 interior is nearly the same as the 240 and the late 260 is imo better,I live not far from you so welcome to check mine out and I'll take you for a blast

Sorry you're not too chipper Samuri240. I can't believe your car is not road worthy. Looks mint. However, I'm probably after a sound but scruffy one, that I can tinker with.
Status, appreciate your offer and if I get over your way perhaps I could let you know.
