A link to the complete MOT test and what's tested, what exceptions there are, and useful bits like if you engine swap the test is based on either the car or engine whichever is OLDER - bet you didn't know that !

Can someone make this a stickie please:D

I wonder how many would even know what our car's are supposed to sound like :lol:

im surprised about that, i just took my 1970 240z for an MOT and they queried only having one seat belt, to get round this i took the seat out but the engine in the car is a 1962 327 chevy v8 surely seat belts were not invented back then, interresting to know though for next time

I had my 4 seater passed with the rear seats out with my decatted NA which isn't overly quiet.

Depends which MOT station you go to really, some are more stringent than others

When I took my 1986 Z31 my MOT tester didn't even do an emmissions test. He said it was too old to qualify for one.

When I used to take my T reg 260 it had a leniant emmisions test & you heard stories of them failing with the std carbs fitted. (mine had 280 inj fitted).
