Tax exemption

Hi

I phoned Nissan this morning to find out the actual build date on my 240z as it was first registered in 1974..mr parts man said no chance they can help as they dont use slides anymore..

Can anyone help out please..?

Hasn't it got to be pre 73 for VED free? That would mean that your car had to had sat around for well over a year.

I went direct to Nissan Japan, and they could at least confirm to me a 6 month window for the build date.

As for tax exempt - taken from DVLA website:

"ld vehicles constructed before 1 January 1973 (historic vehicles)

If your vehicle was constructed before 1 January 1973, you could tax it in the 'historic vehicle' tax class. Further information can be found on leaflet INF34."

i know its has to be pre 73 upto 7th of january.but you never know..lol
