Hi Suzy and all,

what was the full finishing order on both runs? I was hanging on for grim death and in full panic mode - so all I really noticed was Tony's red streak out of the corner of my eye.

Was the 350Z second both times? And what about the others? I think we should give credit to all concerned especially since Neil wasn't last both times!

I agree we should know outcome of both take's,& every
one there should help get the definate order.
I think Suzy is going on holiday,perhap's someone can
call Ian Brown for info etc.
I,ve stated I was last on 2nd take,& I think driver's to pre
occupied to keep tab's on who's where.
Status had problem on 1st take,as I did on 2nd take.
I'll try & call producer.............CheerZzzz DJZ 60.

I'm really not sure as I too was hanging on and hoping my gearbox wasn't about to explode. From what I remember of the video we saw, the 300 and 350 were pretty close but I think the 300 was first. I couldn't see much else and my heart rate was so high I probably had tunnel vision anyway!

I have to admit though - even if the 350 won one run they'd use the video of it coming second.

I suppose we could ask the TV peeps. Shame we've got to wait until November to get the vid!

As for positions... hmm.. from the playback they showed us, Gio was further in front of JC than I thought, then a red 260 after them... beyond that I dunno. I was *way* back in the field, fighting with Neil (hope he doesn't take offence at me implying he was "way back" too :p), especially on the second run (as well as a fluffed start I also backed off before I actually reached the line :().
First run I think I mighta been around level with one of the red 260s, but like everyone else I was more concerned about potential explosions/bits falling off than running order :p

Since I haven't had the chance yet (was waiting til I had my pics back to post), I wanted to say I had a great day - pleasant company, beautiful cars, nice countryside - so thanks to everyone involved :)
My personal fave car was probably DJZ60's, it made me crave a 260 even more ;) I followed him back til we got to Banbury, then we parted and straight after I saw an oldish couple tootling along in a black Z31 - thought what a shame it was I didn't see them before, maybe they coulda been persuaded to come for a drag :p

I hogged this thread enough.. hopefully you can extract some relevant info from it.. :S
 
Thanks for starting this one, Mike - invaluable, since I've already mentioned to Steve that I'd like to write this one up for the Chrimbo mag ..

Mind you, it'll be interesting if my take on the whole day changes after seeing the video ... seeing as your man JC was yacking into the camera whilst driving my car up the strip - could be all manner of slating.

Hmm, a 260 for xmas..? That would be a nice surprise :) (why am I imagining it with a big cotton wool santa beard stuck on the front? :?)
DJZ's listing for the first run is about how I reckoned it too, but I wouldn't put too much stock on my recollection of events...

Grr, they had to put me between the two fastest cars, didn't they? :(

Hi,Gio,& everyone.

I,ve just spoken to the producer's "On the Box production's"
& due to distributor's copyright's etc,we cant have a raw copy
determining who came where or what take they will use.
The editing take's place next week & camera crew are still
filming to complete Dvd for scheduled release.
So,all we can do is to get all those present, to rack their
brain's for result's on both take's.
Could all the participient's upload more photo's in to the
Gallery as that would prove useful too.
I think Johnboy is doing a write up ,which could be
forwarded to Steve Kiddell (new Ed) for winter issue of Z club
magazine.

Was Neil last on the first run? I got the impression status had some problems and ended up at the back...
Anyway, I'd reckon on the first run it was me & DJZ in 4 & 5th, but I have no idea of order (DJZ musta been in front if I could see him?). Second run I was alongside Neil for most of it, so I'd guess I was 6th (possibly 5th if no-one else claims it :p).
I'd probably have a better idea if I wasn't way over the other side of the runway with the big boys.. :S

As for spec: I'm a manual, certainly, and I'm sure Neil said he was auto and an NA. Which would mean, yes, you were the only turbo (with two of them as well! Talk about greedy!) :p

Pics uploaded, when they've been authorised or whatever... :S I am always astounded by the low quality of both my camera and scanner, so apologies for that :( Anyway, there's one Suzy took of the start of the second run (thx Suzy btw :)) - looks like JC and me haven't even set off yet, but Neil is in mid take-off, rear end squished right down :D

As for TG audience... the idea kinda terrifies me, I'm not very good with crowds, and the people look so *BIG* on that show! :eek: I'd get trodden on...
