Spring height

Can anybody tell me what height a set of standard springs for a late (78-79) 260Z should be, if you had them stood on the floor and not fitted?

The front springs that have come off my Z are about a foot long.

The replacement - supposedley lowering - springs I have are longer at 13 inches and I'm wondering what is standard?

The effect / rate of a spring is gauged from a formula which includes free length, number of coils and the cross sectional area of the wire from which it is wound (and possibly other factors which don't come to mind at the moment). You can't necessarily compare one spring to another just on free length...
