What do you want to know about it? Lots of crash testing was done both before and during production. Whole topic has been discussed many times over on the classiczcars.com forum if you want to investigate further.

It's one of the A3 pre-production prototypes undergoing crash testing at Nissan in 1968. Note the rear pillar vent arrangement ( dropped for initial production as the vented hatch system was preferred, then re-introduced when the vented hatch system was dropped ) and the pressed steel 4-spoke wheels, also dropped for production.

Thanks Albrecht!

Was crash testing a standard requirement in the 60's or were Nissan pioneering?

Also interested if there is any info on what speed it was and how the s30 fared. This photo is amazing as nothing but the bonnet appears to be bent, as if it has a crumple zone.

If you want to see a Z crash watch Bruce Almighty with Jom Carey. The bonnet crumples just like that whe he drives into a street lamp pole or something ;)
