Rally Car .... short vid

Woah jeeees, definately getting harnessed up if I get anything more than my old green Omega!

I'm guessing he was on the way to the stage and it was his fault by the looks of things? Or do Hungarian buses compete?

Watching it again just shows what happens in a crash

Doesn’t look like the cars going that fast either

Often thought I could easily hold onto a steering wheel in an accident

Makes you think what happens without a belt if nothing else

Not a hope in hell of holding yourself in situ in a smash !!

No chance at all :) Have to remember in a crash if the car stops and you were doing 20 mph, your pretty much still going 20mph when you hit the dash...

Its all a bit odd though, it doesn't look like either vehicle tried to avoid eachother, the bus doesn't even turn a wheel, and I know you can't clearly see whats happening but buses aren't small, and it's red... how did he fail to see it or is it a brake failure or something as he seems to go for the handbrake...

Anyone not wearing a seat belt is asking for it really. Makes you think!

Russ, I'm loth to admit this but I was a traffic cop for 2o yrs. Seatbelts became compulsory during this time and you would be amazed at what people were able to 'walk away' from as a result of that. Ok as time has progressed, car designs have become safer, but no-one should ever consider driving without a seat belt. I've been involved in several unplesant 'bumps' both as driver & passenger, on the road & in motor sport and because of seatbelts have only spent a few hours in hospital & never had anything broken. belt up, live long and prosper !

When I was 17, testosterone fueled and ashamedly driving like a complete twat, I skidded under the back of a lorry - I had long hair at the time.

After the accident I could not sit backwards because my hair was tangled in the tailgate of the lorry - had I not have had a seatbelt on I would have given it a major glasgow kiss and would would have been extremely dead.

Two lessons learned, seatbelts are essential and driving like a complete prat on ther road is stupid.

I also managed to drive like a prat (well not intentionally, momentary lapse of common sense) and seat belt did me a favour. I doubt I'd have died but as the car slid along on its side, seeing as my window was put through I'd have been eating tarmac all up the road. Also my brother wrote of his car with a lovely spin and seat belt kept him in place whilst the car took a few walls and protected him. Thank you Peugeot.

Absolutely amazing the excuses people have for not wearing them. I heard a classic once "I'm not going to wear a seatbelt because my friends life was saved from not wearing one", something to do with the fact they fell out the sun roof and the car was destroyed but miraculously he was ok. Maybe if people don't wear seatbelts then the stupid gene will be erradicated in a few generations.
