Oxford Meet

Pmac has mentioned that there are club members in the Oxford area, and i just wondered if they would like to get together one evening at a local pub etc for a meet , with myself ,Flyer and any one who fancys it  .It would give our cars a run and it would be nice to meet more club members !
 
Would be up for this if my Z is back from being sorted,but it may take a month or so to be done,not far from me,nice run to Oxford,would prefer a sat or sun midday time myself,Tony <img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Just to put you in the picture JohnnyD64 about possible Oxford area meets.
The members I referred to are most definitely NOT web enabled! So they wont respond!
HOE group normally has a "planning meeting" in Jan where all members put forward ideas for shows meets etc. A calendar of events is then drawn up with various members taking turns at organizing the events. The group still uses snail mail extensively and sucessfully to communicate. Its all co-ordinatrd by Brian Kesterton at the moment. Info is normally sent to the Magazine for inclusion in its calendar of events too.
JEZ300 is our most skilled web man and usually puts stuff up on his HOE website.
As I said in my little bit about the run to Castleton we are always happy to have new faces turn up even on a one off basis.
Hope this explains a little about the perceived lack of response.
We are in fact one of the Zclubs most regular groups and have been established for over 10 years.
Our founder group leader Graeme Ilsley was the one who first took the club to Billing for a little local meeting! The rest is history! <img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Pmac thanks for the info and in that case we`ll see what transpires .....perhaps when something has been organised they would not mind if it was posted on the "meetings" site as well, cheers.
 
Well Zs back, all ready to roll(so smooooth:D )but have had the flu(nasty,nasty:( )but feeling fitter now,so jonnyd64 and others let us know if you have any ideas as to a meet,and hopefully if time(xmas getting so close)can meet up,theres a meet being arranged for dec 14th near Welwyn by some of the lads on 300zx.co.uk and its easy to get to,nice run out if anyone interested,just off A1(M)junc6,will be going if time available:)

what do you say , that we start a fresh in the New Year,,,as life seems to be getting pretty busy right now , this time of year an all.:D

No probs mate,know what ya mean,things getting busy all over,not been out in my Z much, what with having flu and all,but theres a small meet on sunday at Nuneaton(Longshoot pub)prob bit far for you,but will definately catch up with ya in the new year:) Tony
 
I too would be up for a meet in oxford, a bit of a run for me but i seem to be the only z owner in my area. i look forward to it.
 
Hi Topper , where abouts do you come from then,,,,cause i expect it will be around the oxford area, ish ,,,,as guyz will be hopefully coming down from the midlands, or the M40 corridor for example,,,,,if we put ideas forward for the meet location , now,,,,, we will be set for the New Year ...:D

Here are some suggestions, anyway:-

1/Bicester area......Anyone know of a good pub ,etc.

2/A43 Road towards Silverstone, must be some pubs around there?
3/Or .....?:D
 
Any of those places fine by me,even Buckingham or Aylesbury,Banbury,or what about Waddesdon on A41,the White Lion,big carpark at rear,5 miles north Aylesbury towards Bicester,or anyother suggestions welcome,just thought,used to go to big pub in Thame years back,someone must know,aaah i know, what about Wheatley,there must be a nice pub there(another hunting ground of mine:D )anyhow a few possibles:)
 
Ok , what about this then , depending where people are driving from we could have one location ,,say Thame that sounds a good place,,then move it for the next meet ,,say closer to you,,for example,,,one meet we go one place , then we go another Wheatley how about that?:D
Actually Wheatley sounds good wheres that then?....... Doh!

Hi jonnyd64 and all you zed owners out there, i am from south shropshire near shrewsbury but work from milton keynes so i know oxfordshire, bucks, and northants quite well, so a meet in any area (apart from london as then i am lost) would be good. so please keep me posted on what you guys decide to do and i look forward to a meet soon.
 
Topper,, we`ll work some thing out,,,i think the locations where Tonyc said will be ideal,,,, we just have to choose one between us and some dates :D

,,,ok with you Tonyc,,,,,is the White Lion food good,,,,at Waddesdon on the A41?
 
Will check to see if they still do food,not been there in a while,if anyone has a date for the new year and anymore ideas as to where to meet please feel free to suggest:)
 
Nice one Tonyc ,,,will be going out that way around Christmas,,, so i will have a good look around ,then as well ,,,,but,like you said if any one else has any ideas ,please feel free to post here,,,the more the merry-er,,

If you could make it a little now witney side of oxford I'm sure I could get some of the SW&WOE lot along!!
We had a meeting this summer in Bristol with the 300ZX group and I know they are up for another meeting so we could combine it with yours.
I'll be sending out a newsletter to the south west lot in the new year so if you set a date let me know and I'll add it in. Also in the Spring we will be meeting at Westonbirt if you are interested, can't remmeber the date off the top of my head, but will keep you posted
