ok so my zeds never been the greatest but appart from shredding rubber its never let me down..... til now, i started to notice a low thudding noise from the engine recently, having asked around the general opinion is that its the bottom end going, this didn't sound to be too bad as i've been on the lookout for a new engine to upgrade for a while now, the major problem happened yesterday with a quick trip to the local shops, the van wasn't running so i decided that i'd take the zed... as i left the garage to return home i floored the zed and it refused to shift.... it just bounced on the rev limiter.... i backed off the throttle pulled away, she shifted into second so i put my foot down again and the same thing, bouncing the rev limiter again.............. so whats the idea here.... is she fubar'd or is this probably just a simple problem?

Could be many things Steven, gearbox, clutch, prop or diff, certain engines have even been known to shear the rear boss off leaving the flywheel static whilst the crank turns:eek: .

Get the car on a ramp and jack the back wheels up, and work backwards eliminating all the moving parts.

suzy even if i have to arrive on a trailer or being towed i'll make it.. repairs can wait till after the parade plus with all the zed owners going someone might be able to tell me what the hell is up with it...... worry not, theirs always the chance of an off on the circuit anyway!
