Oil Pressure Gauge

Good afternoon forum and apologies as I am a 280ZX owner, but a collegue of mine at work owns a 350Z Cabriolet. In my car when I first start it, the oil pressure guage stays at zero for 5-10 seconds before climbing to the correct reading. On his 350, it is exactly the opposite. On first starting it whips up to max before falling back after 5-10 seconds to show the correct pressure. Is this usual for a 350?

Oh, by the way I am working on him to join the club!

I've driven 16 x 350's, plus my own of course, been a passenger in more and they will do something similar to that, usually up to 6, then will drop down.

Is his 350 recently acquired pre-loved, or has he had it since new? What year is it?

Keep working on him to join the club.

He's had it about 2 years and it on an 05 plate. Black soft top with tan interior. That's about all I know and I'm sure in two years he must hav had it serviced.
