I guess given the history of the car and the unknowns it makes it a good car to modify in that way :)

What will you be taking out of it parts wise?

Already off
Seats
Steering Wheel
Gear Knob
Front Bumper
Rear Bumper
Over Riders

Coming Off
Interior trim enough to fit the cage
Stereo to fit a newer one (still retro ish)
Engine replaced with a 1uz (current plan)
Arches cut out to be replaced with bolt on carbon ones
Coilovers with the strut tops modified with camber plates

What stereo was in it? Fancy selling any of the parts?:)

That will be very interesting to see, please share the build with us.
That engine is very cheap to buy here but, not overlay powerful in standard form.
I understand they are very strong and great for turbo charging. Is that what your planning?

It's for noise and a bit of power really. No plans to turbocharge it.

If I was going down that route it'd be a 2jz more than likely as 400bhp is easily had out of stock twins with a bit of mucking around.

Like you mention they are dirt cheap, £500 for box and engine vs £4-5k for 2jz and 6speed

I really like the 1UZ and long term want to do the swap in mine as it will bolt up to my R154 with a new bellhousing, are you going R154 or W58 or staying auto?

Ideally I'd go 154 but they are fairly rare and expensive when the W58 will take 350-400bhp and people will pay me to take the box off them :)

So probably W58 as the 1UZ I think runs only 250bhp.

If I was going 1j definitely the R154 and 2j the v160/161

Haha :)

1UZFE = 4.0l V8 from GS400s usually
2JZGTE = Twin Turbo 3.0l straight 6 from a supra (or aristo)
1JZGTE = Twin Turbo 2.5l straight 6 from a soarer usually

R154 = 5 speed gear box from a soarer usually good for 600-700bhp
W58 = 5 speed gear box from a non turbo supra usually good for 350-400bhp
V161/160 = 6 speed gear box from a supra good for 2000+ (Yes i meant 2000)

That do?
