New member needs advice

Hi I have recently taken possession of a 1984 Z31 2+2 non turbo automatic. It runs ok just needs some TLC to come out and play again. Thing is I need to tow it home, my Haynes manual states I can tow it flat (all wheels on the ground) at no more than 30mph for no more than 30 miles, I've always thought that it's dodgy towing an automatic flat.:unsure: It would be good for me if I can because I can use my A frame. Have any of you towed an auto flat before?

:) On the Z31 it does state that it's ok with limited speed and distance,,however I would shy away from flat towing at all costs,, just not worth risking trans damage due to low lubrication :cool:
 
Take the prop shaft off at the rear end it's four bolts at either end! And two in the middle for the bearing support!
 
Thanks for your replies lads, to be honest I was thinking of taking the prop of anyway, like you say it's not worth the risk.
