hi all
i have a wideband that i havent got round to fitting yet. but im gonna try get it done during the week.
whats the best location for the sensor in the exhaust? some say as close to the header as possible and others say further back.
where have you your sensor fitted?
many thanks

You could have 6 of them, i in each pipe for the best results but in the real world you could fit it just after all 6 merge ...fit it between 9pm and 3pm if looking at the pipe....stops condesation from sitting on the sensor. Very important not to have any exhaust leak or it will screw up the readings.

Mines fitted at floor level at 9 o clock, you just have to allow for the delay while tuning is in progress.

Ok thanks for that guys. Oh what should the normal reading be on these, I mean what should it read at idle? and what should it reading at say 6500rpm? 12-15?

Cheers

Depends on the engine but mine likes to idle at 13.5:1, shouldn't need anymore than 12.5:1 at WOT (wide open throttle) and you can get away with lean numbers 15:1 on light pedal cruising.

I think the recommended position is about 18 inch down the exhaust to stop the heat killing the sensor. That’s where I have them and they work fine also above centre giving a down entry into the pipe. As for the readings I have them on a z32 tt the standard factory setup give a WOT reading in the 10:1 range they use fuel to cool the internals. I find water injection to be a lot cheaper method.
