Geez this forum aint too fast moving!

Anyhow the other day I was looking at my LS-400 and thought the price of these after 10 year is £2500 and they have a fantastic V8. I wonder what it would be like crafted to a Z (since in the huge car they are limited to 155mph) and then noticed an American has done it here 240Z with Lexus V8

If I were to put a V8 in a Zed, it'd be a Chevy small block.
Reason - It's been done a thousand times. You can buy all the conversion kit off the shelf. Tuning parts are readily available and you can get some serious HP from it.
Lexus V8? So one guy has done it in the States and I bet it weren't easy. Whats the stock HP from it? Can you get tuning bits?
Or just stick with what you know without all the hassle of conversions. A Zed straight six aint that bad, you can get an easy 250BHP from it.

2.8 bottom end lightened and balanced. Flat top pistons and a good compression ratio. Ported big valve head. Stage 4 cam. Triple 45's. Decent header and exhaust. Good fuel.
Ok, so maybe not easy as in easy peasy - but surely easier than a V8 conversion.

And don't forget the improved fuel delivery system (pump, filters, hoses) and quality ignition components (preferred electronic, suitable plugs, good quality leads) required to make a high powered engine safe and ensure the delivery of every last potential horsepower.

Are there any guides to the Chevy small block conversion? I know a company sells books on it but they are in the states. Which reminds me the guy said a bulk buy of ten books would secure a good price so I need to find the club book shop phone number and let him know

Same company They sent me when I enquired on the clubs behalf

"The books are available. Retail cost is $33.95 US. We can give discounts in quantities of 10 or more at half price. We ship via the US postal service or ups and charge their rates. The books weigh about 1 pound each.
Greg "

Might be worth getting in touch with the book dude or us finding ten people interested.

Anyone?
