I've posted this on some of the other forums, but because there were so many different Zs there, I thought it may interest you lot as well that maybe don't use 300zx-club or 300zx.co.uk

Whilst I was over in the states last month, I went to 2 Z meets. One Z32 meet in LA with some of the guys from previous visits and a Z convention hosted by the Oklahoma Z Club in Tulsa, which encapsulated a day at Hallett raceway and a day car show, which the City's officials let us borrow an old and quite large iron bridge that spans the partially dried up Arkansas river.

Anyway, had a good time at the the LAZ32 meet, Karting at MB2 raceway just outside Los Angeles, some canyon driving and a car show at Autobacs and to Performance Nissan.

Just a few photos from that day....

The following week, I flew out of California and headed towards the midwest (nearly) and into Tulsa in Oklahoma which is where this year's MidwestZfest was held and hosted by OKZCC.

The first day of the event was held at Hallett Raceway which is about an hour's drive from Tulsa. The humidity was unreal. It was over 100 degrees, but with the humidity, felt so much more.

This beast had over 700bhp under the hood. Insane engine. Probably the highest bhp Z32 in the Midwest. The guy brought it down from Nebraska on a trailer. I actually had a ride in this the following evening and it felt quicker than the GT-R I'd just been in previously. Not my cup of tea styling-wise, but an amazing peice of kit.

The 3 week old GT-R out on the track. I have film of this thing drifting round an apex which looks pretty cool.

The following day, the city officials let use use a large iron footbridge that spanned the width of the Arkansas river. All the cars were lined up, unfortunately I couldn't get any really decent shots of the layout. It was sponsored by a large Nissan dealership and Z1 motorsport amoungst others.

This was car of the show. The panelwork is almost completely original, lived all its life in Texas I believe. It's been stripped and rebuilt though to the most impressive standard I've ever seen. Photos don't do it justice at all. You could eat your dinner off all of it.

The second night were were there was an odd one. The guy with the big HP Z32 had a transmission fault and a load of guys decided they'd spend all night in the hotel car park repairing it, whilst 2 other guys drove upstate to Arkansas to get another transmission! They worked on this car all the way through till the morning...and fixed it! But in the meantime, we chased Armadillios round the car park! LOL

Some nice photos there!....Particularly the one above!
Don't the American Z32's look nicer than most of the 300ZXs over here too?

awesome! I like the red (number 73) 240 and the white one with the 350 engine. Their all awesome though.
A good friend of mine just bought an '83 280zx turbo today.

wow, good to see the Z31 getting some cred out there.

Seeing the black one now I know why one of my friends referes to my Z31 as a KITT car, although it doesn't quite look the part in white
