hi guys.i've only had my 240z three months.it has a L26 engine with n42 head. It's time to refuel and i'm not sure what fuel it takes.previous owner didn't know he just assumed unleaded but i don't want to damage engine.anyone know?

Hi An N42 head would have hardened seats as standard it is from an early 280, so will be safe with unleaded.

hi gywn.i'm only going on previous owner.the owner before him who restored the 240 is still listed under membership name ANDREWR.if you look at his previous post when he was selling car it gives same details?

i bought a 2602+2 thought it run on leaded because of the age and it wouldnt run rite mess with the carbs then found out it was it was unleaded what a difference fasssssst wicked

I've got a 1975 L26 and the previous owner used to add lead replacment to unleaded fuel, but it runs fine just on unleaded. Am i doing the engine some harm using just unleaded?

If the cylinder head is an E88 & the valve seats have not been replaced with hardend ones the valve seats will burn out using unleaded with no additive.
