JANSPEED TURBO Rocker cover breather (FAO MR F)

Normally this would be O.K., but I don't want to be the person who says yes and then have you blow a head gasket on the A1..........

Re-torque is, in some ways, an old-fashioned precaution and often re-checking L-series engines shows no requirement for the procedure to have been done. For models like the Z31 and certainly the Z32, the question of disassembly of half the engine to do a re-torque doesn't even enter the equation.......

Thanks.

Discretion proved to be the better part of valour and also given the extra problem of the snow and ice - I kept my candy a** at home

:D

Thought i would join in on my janspeed set up i got my air filter from mike many years ago it had 2 filters the main one & the breather one which is plumbed in on a long breather pipe down to the front of the car 7 the smaller filter is on the end never had any trouble with it & it has been on there now for some 4 years approx get a small amount of smoke out of it but nothing major???

I thought I'd add my two penworth to this old thread. As some of you may know I bought Pete's old car after it had been through a couple of owners and needed things sorted (who mixes plug temperatures across the block). Anyway all was running well and as the post above said just the odd puff of oil fumes. I was burning a touch of oil on shut off after having positive boost (more of this later) so I added some oil additive and was getting a lot of fumes from the vent filter. Yesterday, with the help of some brass plumbing spares I modified the back plate of the K&N air filter and ran the vent hose to the air filter. Closed the system and problem solved. As the filter points slightly downwards any oily waste should collect and not pull back fouling the air flow meter.

As for the oil on shut off. I reckon that this is from the centre bearing of the turbo under very heavy vacuum. Does any one make a vacuum valve that at a certain level would open allowing air directly into the intake and prevent such a low vacuum and hence stop it pulling in oil (it doesn't do this at normal vacuum levels)

Ta in advance
