What a FANTASTIC day, the 70s Roadsports race was great and Charles Barter showed once again how accomplished he and the car are! But the other races and machinery were awesome too(including F1, prototype sports cars eg Lola T70s etc).

All four 240s performed well but Matt (2nd 240) after making a terrific start had a frustrating time, which included knocking his 'master-switch' off during a sideways moment.

I am full of admiration for these guys especially Matt who competes on a limited budget. He drove to the circuit in his race-car on Friday, worked on it until 10pm, slept on the pit-garage floor overnight and only had an aluminium chair as hospitality resources!

Skiddell, did you go, I didn't read your reply until today?

Yes sir I did and what a great time I had

I was expecting to be there early, but my bonnet release cable broke at the catch end so I spent 2 hours sorting it out.

Saw 2 other Z's in the car park both red.

Spent some time walking around the dazzling display of cars Ferraris (2 F40's flanking an Enzo)
Cobra's
Astons

Then went to the pit garage

Twitchy moment

Matt in the pit garage with an hour to go wondering why his fuel pump wasn’t working and Mr F leaning into the nearside footwell saying "Er Matt why is this relay unplugged"

Watched Matt from Woodcote, Great shame about Matt’s result, it must be so frustrating when technical problems conspire against you
Given that the HP from Matt’s car was down (cam weirdness), he was also having big grip problems from lap 2 onwards and he is on a tight budget -- the performance was very respectable

That guy has real talent

All together
The company I was with ensured that the entertainment was "full on" and the day was a treat.

I have a number of pictures that I will be posting as soon as I can get my act together

I would recommend anyone who enjoys motor sport
to attend

So as for the next rounds (Snetterton, Brands) Bring it on, I will be there
