head removal

Well its all good news as far as the head goes, It turns out it was just a fault with the fan relay that caused the engine to over heat and chuck the coolant out, I've booked it in to have the Weber's set up next Monday so hopefully I'll be able to enjoy it pretty soon.

Doesn't she look pretty lol.

Call me to order some clips to get that mess of leads sorted out! :p

Shut it you pimp .

I've already got the clips I've just not fitted them back on yet .

But a nice alloy cap might just look the part .

Rob

Get an airbox while your at it, open trumpets = bad

I've got an air box I just can't be arsed to start cutting all the holes in it to make it fit at the moment, I might just buy some socks for it for now, I have a heat shield and the exhaust manifold has been wrapped so heat shouldn't be to much of a problem for now.

Glad you got it sorted rob. Engine bay looks mint.

Mike I need those clips for the leads. Could you pm me please.

Cheers

I need to show you some recent dyno sheets (with/without) once you see them you will throw your sill socks away, fit the air box and be done with it.......hint it's not just about temps and clean air.
When I get a moment I will ping them over

Trust you to complicate my day :rolleyes:.

I made a template for the air box ages ago but I'll have to buy a suitable sized hole cutter or get busy with my drill and files ;).

Another thing I was thinking about was just how is the box going to fit with the trumpets anyway ?, I think you'd need longer studs in the carb bodies to fit both.

I spent a bit of time fitting my air box yesterday and I think it looks great, I just need to drill out the big holes for the trumpets now but I'm waiting for a hole cutter to arrive to do the job properly.

Fitting those bloody clips that hold it all together was a right pain in the **** but I got there in the end, I also got round to refitting the strut brace and cable clips, I've ordered some push in trumpets to replace the bolt on ones that where a little to tall for the air box.

I just need to sort out all the piping and an air filter now, but for the time being I think a pair of the wife's old tights should see it through the tuning on Tuesday ;):lol:.

You need to fit the air trunking + filter BEFORE you get it set up.
Likewise you MUST have the trumpets installed..
Call me to discuss the significance of the above if you want.
