I've searched the site first to see what we've written on this subject before.

To sum up it goes like this -

240Z box for 3.9:1 diff –

1st 2.957
2nd 1.857
3rd 1.311
4th 1.000
5th 0.852
Rev 2.922



260Z box for 3.7:1 & 3.5:1 diff –

1st 2.906
2nd 1.902
3rd 1.308
4th 1.000
5th 0.864
Rev 3.382



79/81 280ZX box for 3.7:1 diff -
1st 3.321
2nd 2.077
3rd 1.308
4th 1.000
5th 0.864
Rev 3.382



82/83 280ZX box for 3.9:1 diff -
1st 3.062
2nd 1.858
3rd 1.308
4th 1.000
5th 0.745
Rev 3.026



Just for a bit of clarification.

Is it just the final drive ratio that changed between early and late 260z ?

Is there such thing as a 2+2 box, or was it just hot air ?

All ratio's as posted are correct otherwise ?

For the 3.545:1 differential in later 260Z, the ratios for 1st and 2nd were changed to -

1st 3.321
2nd 2.077

The rest of the ratios remained the same.

The box with 2.905 and 1.902 1/2 remained in production for other markets.
