fuel tank query

I know it's a fair amount of cash, but if one were building a race or track orientated Z, would it be an idea to use one of these rather than an old original tank? It would avoid trying to weld better fuel connections onto an old tank for a start!

Are they road legal?

And no, I haven't got a lottery win burning a hole in my pocket, I'm just wondering!
