engine compartment id plate

does anyone know the correct location of this aluminum plate on a uk 260Z?, i thought it was fitted on the off side strut tower but there are no matching holes. there are matching holes nearby just above the voltage regulator & next to the fuel filter but it wouldn't sit flush as there's a raised section of the inner wheel arch right in the way and it would bend the plate...

Do you mean chassis plate?
Mine is on the n/s just in front of the battery

Mine is just in front of the battery on the ns inner wing
You should have a little raised plate for the plate to sit on

Maybe it is installed in different places depending on year of manufacture?

Mine was under the inspection lamp on the opposite side of the engine compartment, you can see the holes here:

yours is diff to mine Wyn as that plate is triangled shape on mine!. (i have pattern wings so maybe thats why). also i see your inspection lamp is nearby, mine's on the other side. Morbias is similar to mine. there's a small raised square section you can just see on your pic.
mine seems to fit right over that, can't be right

Ignore the lamp, someone stuck an RB engine with boost hoses in the way so it had to be moved

The chassis plate location is correct as far as I know tho? (for a 78 car)
