Emissions and Car Tax

Has any one any idea how the changes in yesterdays budget will impact the few 280ZX drivers left? I can't find any info on the emissions and therefore I can't work out which band the old girl fits into. As she is my daily ride I am interested.
Thanks in advance

The bigger the engine the more tax .....so............ get a tax exempt 240 and throw in a 5.7V8....... hold two fingers proudly aloft to the commie chancelor and enjoy :D

Still a rip-off. Road tax takes the p*ss when your car hardly does more than 1,000 miles per year. Why not hit diesel repmobiles instead?

No road tax in France, MOTs every two years or not at all if you register your car as a classic car and petrol AND diesel cheaper than you.

I won't go on to talk about better, emptier roads and proportionnally fewer speed cameras !

Ironic, that Britain is more car mad (enthusiastic) than the French but your all f**ked more by each successive Govt.

You think that's bad look what it is over here pa (cc based car tax)
2,501 to 2,600 €961
2,601 to 2,700 €999
2,701 to 2,800 €1,033
2,801 to 2,900 €1,071
2,901 to 3,000 €1,109
3,001 or more €1,343

Atleast We dont have juggernauts, blockading the roads, we pay the tax, higher fuel,&
annual m.ot fees just so,more camera's can take pictures of us cruising about at
different speeds. DJZ 60.

The lorries just block the M-ways and so we must drive on the N roads that cost nothing :) !

Welcome Brits, to Euro road tax laws - ask the Dutch how much they've been paying for years - seriously, Guus could really scare you !

Next thing is, they'll be checking your cars to see if they're standard or played with - oh shit - bye-bye Hybridz

From my reading of the .gov site, the 350Z is Band F in the "new" car rating as it is over 185 g/Km CO2 (coupe 275 g/Km, "dirty" convertible 288 g/Km) which equates to the top rate of £190 tax per year. Buy new after 23.03.06 and you get moved up to Band G (over 225 g/Km CO2) and pay an extra £20 a year for the same car with the same emissions.....? Unless someone has more up to date emissions data for the '06 models? I've just asked Nissan for some up to date info as their .pdf download on the topic appears to be unavailable...

Today's reply from Nissan really encouraging:

"Dear Michael Feeney,

Thank you for your recent e-mail.

This information has not currently been made available to us. Please contact us later in the year for future updates.

Kind Regards,
