Drivers side door lock - whole thing just free spins

Finally got car MOT'd last week - passed ok !! Just needed new wiper blades ..... phew ...

However i drove it to work today and when i went to lock it the whole drivers door lock just spins round ... Help !!

climbed in through passenger door and managed to open drivers door ok so have left it unlocked for now - key still goes in lock ok - but has no purchase - spins round through 360 degrees

Presume i'll have to take the door card off to investigate further

Not sure if this helps you, but the guys at Z'd world in Tamworth usually have locks rescued from other cars. Good luck

On the rear of the barrel there is a small plastic section that is common to fail, the part is NOT available on its own only with a complete barrel, now you could stump up the £50+ cost and just use the plastic bit and that way retain the same key OR be clever and use the one from your passenger barrel! it is handed but with 10 seconds with a file it will fit just fine.

Hi,
You could fit an alarm with remote central locking on the drivers door.
The nissan central locking will then lock the passenger door.
The key is then used only to start the car.
