Converting LHD for UK roads

Hi all, I've searched the forum but can't find anything obvious. I need to get my 74 260z up to scratch so I can get it through an MOT and registered. I'm assuming (although could be wrong) that I'll need to change the front headlights. Can anyone recommend a direct replacement, I'm not after any fancy headlights, just close as direct replacements. I've got a set of rear UK lights from a 74 260z so I'm assuming these will just be plug and play.

Are there any other lighting issues I need to consider for an MOT? I'm tackling this aspect first before I crack on with other jobs.
 
Any 7" headlamps, Land Rover, old Mini etc, would do - with a built-in sidelight. Then rewire the sidelights as they are in the headlamp. You can't have orange sidelights in the UK ...

Rear lights, you should be okay - but you'll need to wire something for the brake lights ONLY from the brake pedal. Do your UK lights have a parking light within them? As I don't think there was one in the USA loom ...
 
now would be a good time to upgrade the headlight wiring loom with a couple of relays to take the load off the switch gear if you haven't already done so
 
You only need relays with these new halogens though ... if you're happy with the original style candle-effect you should be okay). :D

Not saying that an upgrade to relays is a bad idea though anyway ...
 
The candle effect should be okay for the moment. I just want to get the car through an MOT and registered first before I dive in to the resto as she's in pretty useable condition at the moment although airing on the side of rat look.
 
Got any pics Geoff?The wiring isn't that much of a problem to sort at the front. For the back ones I ran the extra wire then bought some JDM ones from the US (for an arm and a leg, but they look the dogs) ... and they have the parking light, (but there is no wiring for it at the indicator stalk) ...

Is that pics of the car? I do have some. I should really start a build thread!
