On the behalf of myself (I think the others are less enthusiastic) I want to congratulate all of you for the London victory over Paris! :D

What a year for you… ;)

First the French “NO” to the Euro constitution stopped the thing without the need for UK to be the bad guy of the class… then Tony Blair… today on charge of Europe destiny. Ok, for 6 month only, but how ironic for a country that really don’t show a lot of enthusiasm for the big team!

And now the Olympics Games…

Albion perfidy is not a legend! :p

binge drinking, kebabs, fights. Come over to England for the olympics and i'll show you a good night out in Milton Keynes.

Don't forget the UK rebate crisis Boomer ! Time for Chirac to move on but replaced by who - Sarko ?

Know of a couple (French mother in the UK for over 17 years, English father) who've just sold up and left Plymouth of all places due to their kids being threatned with knives too many times !

I don't recognise my country anymore :-(

Hell ! Sean do you mean that they have already started the fencing training in Plymouth ????? No wonder the UK had the games :D

Haaaargh, your even hosting this week-end F1 race

Well I am pleased we won but without being downbeat let's hope we make a good go of it and don't live to regret it. No more millenium domes please.

I will say this for the French bid, they were going to hold some of the games in temporary facilites, which seems a very sensible idea to me.

I wouldn't want to be in Chirac's shoes at the moment. No doubt the French press will say that his 'british food' quip cost Paris the games.

No Britain doesn't belong to the so called Anglo Saxon anymore, it stopped belonging to them when they colonised the world and made British citizens of the colonised, latterly Britain gave full support to the US in its cold war with the USSR, the Berlin wall came down and the rest is history.

I can tell you that the guys here laughed at that one George !

No-one likes Chirac but we've got him for another two years and god knows who's going to fill his shoes ! Here, royalty is alive and kicking, just disguised !

Status - that's what I heard and another reason to calm down this euros thing with everybody tramping across Europe from the east looking for utopia !

Boomer - I was in Plymouth just 3 months ago - seemed pleasant to me but once these rosbief start drinking.....The only good drunk English I know are at Le Mans and they're great guys !

Andytt is right, but then it cant be that bad as everyone wants to come here,is it that thing called Dss or is it the food, give me egg and chips any day, beats snails and horse meat hands down

Yeah but your eggs are all contaminated and even the chips all look like McDonalds these days ! And at least Chevaline doesn't suffer from Mad Cows' disease (vache folle :)

Woah! Don't start me on mad cow disease! British meat is about the most policed in the world it seems and probably the safest with all the legislation. Ever heard of Health and Safety on the continent? :D

However I am disappointed we have won the olympics bid :(

1) I hate the olympics
2) Beckham is our front man and what has he to do with the olympics? What about Edwards or a gold medalist, not someone who plays football abroad? We don't even play football in the olympics because its a mickey mouse competition.
3) Now all our taxes will go towards some stadiums that will hardly be used, and only used by a few elite sportsmen, I'd sooner have a new hospital. Benefits from tourism will not arrive anywhere near me in Somerset...

Anyway congratulations France on not winning, I think you came off best.

And who'd want to visit here anyway, much as I love my county I think the French people are generally nicer, too many w*****s and criminals here, every time I've been to France it's been very pleasant, roll on 2007 and the Z summer!

That's off my chest now :)

I don't understand why it has to be London AGAIN , Why not in the midlands and yes it's going to cost a fortune for a minority to use - carry on Blair !

Cheer up, it won't be that bad! And it's not forever either...
On the radio today, they said that Montreal had just closed the loan last month from their 1976 Games!
What's 30 years for an healthy country

And about the food subject, I AM NOT AFRAID BY THE QUALITY OF YOUR PRODUCTS !!!! But more by the way you use them:D

Yeah but you're the masochistic sod who's going over there in the summer - to where , Dedham ! Or is that spelt Dead-ham ?
