Bonnet struts

Hi guys,

Currently looking into replacing my bonnet-stay with gas struts. Only found one small uninformative vid on YouTube about it.
Has anyone done it and know sizes or donor of the strut used?

What a good idea. My 944 has them on the bonnet, and they DO wear out after about 30 years - I replaced them last year ...

I presume you'll need shorter ones though so as not to impede side access as the Z bonnet opens the way it does. Actually, looking at the Porsche ones, they're not very long anyway ... !

The guy on youtube had them mounted down by the bonnet hinges. Will have to do more research...

Doesn't the factory spring work well enough to keep the bonnet up? All mine seam to.

I broke up a bed a few weeks back down me caravan and it had wot looked like similar struts on it as my scooby sportswagon,they were quit thin so might work ,ukfastback I'm looking for a 944'
