Very difficult to tell from the photos what that worth. It may or may not be a good buy but certainly worth a look. These are very expensive to restore though so make sure you have a spare 10k or so.

The key bit from that thread is the mention of the rust in the shell:

"The main areas of rust are around the passenger rear window, floor pan and inside the boot."

Upper rear quarter rot, boot floor rot? Bad news. Fine if you are a talented fabricator, not so much if you want (non-existent) off-the-shelf replacement panels...

Would be useful for RHD conversion donor parts though.

Restoration.... ouch!

Actually, the main areas of rust include pretty much anything between the front and back number plates!

Flippancy aside... rad support panel, inner wings, shock towers, bulkhead, scuttle and asssociated drain channels, chassis rails, inner and outer sills, floorpans, rear quarters, boot slam, rear light surround, spare wheel well... all these bits and more will silently turn into nasty brown flakes of cr@p over time unless watched like a hawk.

These are truly beautiful cars but many of them came into the country with rust already nibbling at their insides and our climate is fatal for them so unless you're very lucky, cutting away rusty metal will just expose more rusty metal and the restoration bills will mount up and up. Chances are you'll find some pretty ropey previous "restoration" work hidden away too. A good coat of underseal can cover up all sorts of horrors!

So... if you want to restore a Z then dive in but do it with your eyes open and your bank balance ready for a major hit.

Best advice is to be very picky and only consider the very best your money can stretch to!
