Yes, in 2003.

It is featured in The Spotters Guide to 350Z Race Cars in the next mag'.
Really, that's a coincidence!!

Anyone know who the drivers were and how they did?

Ryan Hooker from Essex drove for 6 of the hours along with 3 other team mates (don't know who).

He states "The Nissan 350z with its 3.5 litre V6 engine had plenty of torque and coped with the high speed straights with ease, reaching speeds of approx 170 mph.
The Nissan 350z was very good on its Michelin slick tyres which meant consistant lap times were very achievable".

No mention of what position they came (or even if they finished or not).

I've been having a bit of a google-up -

16 - 17th November 2002 was the first 24 hour race in Bathurst and I have found details on the drivers of a 350Z which entered that race, with the following qualifying times -

Mark Williamson(Aus) 5 2m. 40.6003s
Elton Goonan(NZ) 2m.41.0965s
Nathan Pilkington(Aus) 2m.42.0759s
Ian Mitchell(GB) 2m.43.2906s

The car ran in Group 5 Australian GT Performance cars and Mark Williamson achieved the fastest lap time of 2m.24.6303s within Group 5. Unfortunately the team failed to finish.

No mention of Ryan Hooker, so I'd assume he joined the team for 2003 but again it appears they failed to finish (with Pilkington at the wheel).

The race lost serious money for the organiser and no event was held in 2004 - Pete Brock has been trying to revive it since.

Thanks Rob, I did a 'google' but didn't find anything.

Ryan Hooker was the driver I was looking for. I've found a website featuring the driver.

Seen the pic you were referring to in the mag, Rob.

There's some mean looking 350's on that page, would be good to get some articles on those cars competing.

Dave.

From the last photo it would apear that there was a change of 3 of the 4 drivers from the 2002 race

Was the car competing as early as 2002, then, Steve?

as Robs earlier post it would appear so

I met up with Ryan Hooker last wednesday over lunch.

Will be putting something together on the two Bathurst races as an article - got a little more research to do, but hopefully should be ready for Spring edition.
