280ZX Copper metallic paint

Spotted on another forum.Alloys are non standard- but what about Copper metallic paint?
I know Silvias/Bluebirds got it in 1984 onwards but the Z31 didn't -so was it available on 280 or has it been resprayed?

Hi,
I went to look at a 280ZX targa in Birmingham back in the mid 1980s.It was finished in the copper colour with a beige/brown interior.I remember that it had an analogue style clock in the dash so it must have been a pre facelift model....I really like the copper colour, you see it on US market cars quite often too.

Here's a 280zx we spotted in a field next to our camp site, whilst on holiday on the Isle Of Wight a couple of years ago......

Looks like it's finished in the copper colour....Or is that rust!

I think colour may be Burnt Orange code CLR222- which had a limited run from 1983-5
