260z tach wiring

Can anyone help with this as my rev counter's not working and its the 2nd one I've tried so Don't think It's the counter.

I'm assuming at the dash end it's just plugged in and nothing else affects it.

Its a 260 counter 260 loom 280 zx coil and 280zx distributor.

A wiring diagram would be perfect but I think I'm hoping a bit there!!

Ensure that all wiring around the coil has been reinstated correctly in the first instance - in particular, has removing the ballast resistor from the circuit interrupted the BW wire to the positive terminal? This wire runs to the inductive pick-up on the tacho.
