260Z Spoiler colour

My tail-light surrounds were originally some kind of gunmetal grey colour, I don't know the paint code. I ended up spraying them matte black as the chrome was completely stuffed. Pretty sure the spoiler was black?

Mine are indeed all a gun metal colour, any one know if it was used by Datsun to paint whole cars?

My light surrounds have been polished so much, so of the paint has worn thin!

Thanks,

Steve

i too have noticed this , some z 's i have seen are matt black others in a metallic grey ? any one know which is correct , cheers James

I am not sure about the early model 260Z, but here are the colours for a late 1977-on, based on some photographs I have of NOS parts. The rear spoiler is satin black and the light cluster surrounds a mid-satin grey, which also matches the front grille and front spoiler (although most front spoilers now seem to be finished in black) . I am not sure if it is exactly the same, but certainly a similar shade of grey paint is found on the late model aluminium road wheel detailing.

Spoiler colour

Interesting, my spoiler on a 78 car is grey metallic, same as the light surrounds.

True, the standard cross wheels are similar. Front spoiler is rubber though.

I guess I need to go to the paint shop and have them match the spoiler etc.

They 2.8 i Capri was painted in an allmost identical colour, thats as near as you will get without the colour code

Hey,
My '78 260 rear spoiler is a Charcoal metallic black, its started peeling off.
It appears to be like a gel coat as it is 'splintering' off
Best bet, take it too a professional sprayer to colour match and advise the type of coating.
Be interested to know what the answer is :)
