Problem just raised its head a couple of days ago. When I try to start the car the electrics just trip out completely and when I fiddle about with the connectors on the starter and the battery, eventually the electrics come back to life. I have checked and cleaned and substituted everything in that area except the starter, but it still happens. Any ideas?

thanks for any help

Andrew

I think the main electrical feed is from the starter when kicked in so, have you checked the lead with the white square connector mine played up a while back, if you need the starter rebuilt I know of a great place in Kinson has done a load for me and my fleet of cars, let me know.
give us a shout if you get stuck.

cheers Nick

you got me looking in the right area, and I eventually found that the main battery cable was intermittently breaking contact. Put in one from my spares and its all sorted.

Good to know that there are local people who can rebuild old starters etc. Cheers for that
