240Z tailgate lock position

Hi,

I'm a new member and have recently become the owner of a 1972 240z historic rally car.

The boot lock was removed long ago and blocked off in favour of corner boot pins when it was being used for historic stage rallying. Because part of our plan is to use the car for endurance rallying we now need to secure the car from unwelcome attention overnight which in turn means putting the boot lock back.

We have everything we need except the position of the original boot lock. Would be very grateful if someone could measure theirs and let me know so I know exactly where to drill the tailgate ? I just need to know the measurement from the back edge of the closed tailgate to the centre of the boot push button.

Many thanks

Mine's at the painters but somebody must have one to measure - come on people!

Playing with car on Monday or Tuesday so will measure.

Not very scientific, but using a 90 degree square laid on the top of the push-button and sitting on the very edge of the tailgate, I measured - conveniently - 100mm:

This is good timing because I removed my spoiler and lock the other day.

The hole isn't actually round (to stop the lock spinning I guess):

Here's how I measured it (the pic after shows the ruler markings better):

I hope this is all you need, if not then just ask :)
