240z on TV

I just thought I'd let you guys know that I saw a 240z model for sale on Ideal World on sky digital tonight. It was 1/18th scale and in orange, not sure who made it but I ordered one to see what it's like anyway.

This is probably the Franklin Mint 240Z - excellent detail and beautifully presented. Or is this one 1:24th? Steve Burns will know........

You should also check out the Kyosho 1:43rd and 1:18th models - they have produced the Z432R in orange with black bonnet. Kyosho models available from MJP (oops, no advertising....)
 
Bruno, my boxer dog, broke the windscreen on my Kyosho 1/18th 240Z.  He gets a little excited when he sees a 240Z.    

Does anyone know, can this be replaced?

On the subject of television....Did you see the film "Capricorn One" the other night? One of the main characters, played by Elliot Gould, was driving an orange 260Z? &nbsp;in several scenes towards the end of the film. <img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
 
Wasn't that a 280Z in Capricorn One? The 260Z is a pretty rare model in the USA ('73 to '741/2).

Has anyone ever done a definitive study of Zs in films? What was the film where the guys blind date trashes his 300ZX Z31 during the course of the movie? Was it called Blind Date? My memory of this one is hazy.
 
I wasn't sure which model it was as I'm not very good on the differences of early Zeds.
The film was made in 1979 I think, and the car looked quite new.
The film with the 300ZX in, is driven by Bruce Willis and it is called "Blind Date"(also starred Kim Bassinger).
His brother in the film runs a car sales lot, and in one scene you can see several 300ZXs in the background.

I think the Six Million Dollar Man (or was it Woman?) had a 280Z...

Not sure but I seem to remember the Bionic Dog breaking the drivers door window to get out.

What a sad life I lead...
 
Was at the flix the other night watching Matrix2 (great bike chase).
In the trailers for "Can't remember the name of it" starring Jim Carey & Jenifer Anniston - Jim's character is driving a 280Z !!!
 
yep saw it the other night 'Bruce Almighty' with Jim Carrey driving a silver 260z, shame he crashes it. Wonder how many people in the audience were thinking what the hell is that car!!!!!
 
Now everyone's been saying its a 280zx and having no real experience of these it looked to me a lot like a 260 2+2. But the headlight sugar scoop looked quite square??
 
There is no danger of me seeing Bruce Almighty as it Stars Jim C****. But my daughter Leanne has been to see it and tells me it is a 280Z. Says she saw the badge and reckognised the large federal crash bumpers that Unce Sam ordered Datsun to fit. She should know as she has seen the model in California on the road.(although I assume Jim C**** was not driving at that time)!!
