240 vs 260

I know I could probably find this out via a huge trawl of the net but as I have to work every now and then, could somebody please help me with a quick list of "differences" between the 240 and 260 (2-seater) UK spec models?

And...why are 260z so much cheaper than 240z???? Is it a snob thing or are the 240s really that much better?

Thanks in advance!

engine performance, dash, rear lights, interior trim, bumpers and many other slight things that are different, later 260z have longer struts on the rear.as for price, the first of anything is often worth more and more 240z are tax exempt which will save you £160.00 a year keep it ten years and you have saved £1600.00.
most motoring writers would say the 260Z is better for being more refined.
what more can i say, it is a personal thing at the end of the day,i should know because i have a 240Z,1974 fairlady Z and a 1978 280Z

He's right you know, The 240Z progressed in stages as do many
other car's & the stricter emission's in the state's determined the
production & evolvement of the 240Z.
Along the way, were thrown, in a few extra comforts &
Luxurie's possibly due to market demand.
The price's,are or were, unfairly valuated toward's the post 240z car's but that is all set for change due to rarity.
DJZ 60.

Cheers moggy.

Any reason you dont have a 260 in your collection??

From a drivers point of view, how do the 2 cars compare? Do the extra cc's give the 260 more poke, or was it merely to offset some reduction in power (emissions?) from the 240? And was the 260 the first step in the "softening up " of the Z series, or does it drive pretty much like a 240?

Good point about the tax exemption by the way. I hadnt considered that.

think you will find a 260 fitted with su carbs is only a bit slower than a 240 up to 50mph,then its cheerio.thats wot i was told anyway
