240 door lock/latch

Does anyone have any tips for making the door latch work properly? are they available as a new part?
I'm fed up with slamming my door to get it to shut, nearly lost my door pulling out of my drive the other day when it swung open.
I've tried moving the bit on the car but it doesn't do much good.
I'm guessing both parts are worn as the passenger side seems to be much better.
any advice would be great, Thanks
 
If the striker plate is adjusted correctly it sounds like the latch assembly is worn, but could just possibly be a stretched or misplaced spring, worth checking first before replacing the latch
 
No good the mechanism is shot I can no longer shut my door! if anyone has a door mech from a 240 for sale please PM me.
