Recently unearthed this old photo of my first 240 back in 1978 or 1979. Vauxhall Garnet Starmist paint with gold accents. Respray courtesy of 13 weeks off work with a full-length pot due to tib and fib break playing football. Saved a fortune on travel, lunches and beer (due to being pretty much bed-bound and unable to get to the pub for the first month )
Once I was able to hobble around my good friend removed the front pax seat of his Stag every weekend so I could fit in with my straight leg position. The same guy did all the work on the car as well through his work but charged me at cost. What a diamond, still great pals today.
He found so much rot even only 6-7 years old that he called it Benny’s Car, a nod to the dim-witted lad in Crossroads (the TV series) who had just bought a wreck of a car (think it was a Moggy Thou)
