    October Shows

I hovered around some of the datsuns at yesterday's scramble in the hope of bumping into the owners, but if you were anything like me you were distracted by the Braai and pulled pork van haha. My datsun unfortunately wasn't ready for this show but I was there in my 720s. It was a great show...

New year...time to get things moving

So an exciting update (for me). Brake pads in and bled the system Fitted the new handbrake line to work with the rear T3 calipers Drove it off the lift for the first time since work began After the drive, the engine ran beautifully (considering it hasn't had a proper weber setup...

Thanks Jon, I’ll rally a troop!

Filling / bleeding brakes from empty - any advice

Thanks Jon, I'll check that out. Do you think the vacuum method would be suitable for the master cylinder then, or a combination of pedal depression / opening and closing the bleed nipple? (apologies if that's answered in that thread you linked, so ignore if so). Thanks

Filling / bleeding brakes from empty - any advice

Pedal is still soft but that may be as Jon had stated. Thanks, I'll forego the vacuum method for now as that may be the reason for the bubbles.

Filling / bleeding brakes from empty - any advice

I haven't, no - there are 2 bleed nipples on it but assumed (perhaps wrongly) that because I'm drawing fluid through on vaccum then this is fine. Is that just the same method of pumping the brake on those bleed nipples? Thanks

Filling / bleeding brakes from empty - any advice

Hi all. I'm scratching my head somewhat over filling / bleeding my brakes (new T3 calipers front and rear). Initially I opened up each bleed nipple individually after filling the reservoirs obviously) and allowed fluid to reach the nipples in each corner. I then connected a hose/container to...

New year...time to get things moving

A little bit more progress in the hopes of getting it started in the next couple of days. Fitted the Z Story exhaust sytstem - quality appears to be excellent. I may just put a very slightly longer hanger on the back box as, although there is a very slight gap to the bodywork, it is very...

Triple Webers with standard fuel pump

As is typical - I've overcome one conundrum only for another to raise it's ugly head. So, the Weber kit came with alternative lever arms which connect to the other side of the carb housing to allow for the linkage bar and subsequent arms to all be connected however as you can see below, the...

New year...time to get things moving

During the above, the head went away to get gas-flowed and have the Schneider Camshaft installed. The main reason I sent it off was to have the valve seats replaced but it turns out that the head must have been off previously and had this work done already. Head back on Cam sprocket and...

New year...time to get things moving

And then finally I could get the wheels on (required a 5mm spacer on the rear for the Watanabes to clear the T3 brake conversion kit)

New year...time to get things moving

Hi All, another long delay between posts but I've been chipping away at it and slowly its coming together. Carrying on from the above, I've been getting all the running gear installed so I can put it on the wheels and back on the ground again. Getting the stub axles out (thanks IbanezDan for...

Triple Webers with standard fuel pump

Thanks buddy, once it's hooked up I'll check the lever arms as you have suggested. They're wound all the way in at the moment so should hopefully be some scope for lengthening if needs be.

Triple Webers with standard fuel pump

Just a quick additional question as I've progressed with the installation today. Do you guys who have webers installed have to cut down (in the centre part) the stock linkage on the throttle? I mocked it up and found it to be about 60mm too long in order for the hook to meet up with the Weber...

Triple Webers with standard fuel pump

Thanks Jon, I've just found an extra (3rd) 'T' online which would solve the issue of a return, and would mean I could stick to the stock fuel rail for the time being (although I note your point about the electronic fuel pump, which is something I'll probably look at if I can't get the desired...

Triple Webers with standard fuel pump

Hi All, I hope everyone has enjoyed the summer. I'm just in the process of installing my triple webers, and I'm just trying to figure out the fuel system, if somebody more clued up could please shed some light. I'm currently planning on sticking with the stock fuel pump, but obviously with the...

    Here we go again...

Hey Dan, it's Matt from the Datsun parts earlier this afternoon. Nice to meet you and thanks very much for the stub axles! Will be keeping an eye on your project - looks great.
