Rubber Jobbies ;) 3D print of bungs, stoppers, etc

Hi Jason same here please 🙂. I’ve got a 260 2+2 but I imagine the boot hinge seals are the same as a 2 seater.

    Cheshire / Manchester meet up?

Hey everyone. I’d be up for this too. I’m in Saddleworth just outside Oldham. A big caveat. My 260 is up on axel stands mid resto so not ready to drive yet. But if you don’t mind a hanger-on it’d be nice to come say hi for a bit. I’ll be in a Golf R estate but can whack a Datsun badge on it for...

240z (280 L28 engine) gearbox oil change - filler plug removal issue

I know this is an old thread, but I got one from these guys: https://impactsocket.co.uk/product/female-square-socket-1-2-drive-metric/ A bit pricey (£25 delivered when I bought one) but it’s square, they do a 17mm and it fit perfectly. After trying literally everything else to get it off. This...

    Weatherstrip

Sorry for the slow reply @AliK. We’re away at the mo. I think I went for a large bead door seal but I’ll check when we’re back.

    Weatherstrip

Hey @Zouki I went down the Woolies route. Ordered a few samples and tested them by area to see which fitted best. It worked quite well for boot seal(s), doors etc. It’s a bit more diy than a proper kit but seemed to do the trick on mine.

What did you do to your Z this week?

Really good point @Rob Gaskin. She's a Californian import, so in all honesty replacing the baked / perished bushings and a bit of a respray / powder coat is probably all that needs sorting in that area. I imagine the bearings will be fine for now. If they do play up I can always replace them...

What did you do to your Z this week?

We had a decent bit of weather so I pulled out the diff... went much smoother than expected for a solo job. Then had a go at powder coating, which I was pretty chuffed with for a first attempt. But as I'm stripping more off I'm getting a touch of 'while I'm there'. I've taken out the rear...

Chassis / frame rails - A few opinions needed please :)

Great thanks everyone, that sounds like a plan.

Chassis / frame rails - A few opinions needed please :)

Thanks Jon, really appreciate it. Yeah I don’t mind them having a bit of character. My main worry was the dents weakening things, especially with her being a 2+2 and a bit longer. I’ll delve deeper where the hole is and see where the rust is coming from. Good shout on the jack stands.

Chassis / frame rails - A few opinions needed please :)

Hi everyone With the sun out I've been out getting the 260z 2+2's frame / chassis rails down to bare metal. Apart from the underside, there isn't a much rust around the rest of the car. I've had her for 12 months since she came over from Cali, so most of the rust seems to be surface level (one...

    Newbie with a 260z 2+2

Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll check those out. Really good shout on Woolies, I might order some general seals from them first to sort the doors out. Luckily the panels are in good shape and pretty much rust free. Inside it’s the usual damage from being in the sun so I’ll try and preserve as...

    Newbie with a 260z 2+2

hey everyone, sorry for the slow reply, I didn’t see the notification come through my email. Just sorted that out. Ha ha, yes work benches complete front and rear, or a pub bench for a relaxed sit down and pint when working on her. I’ll get another 2ft of drive space when they come off ...

    Newbie with a 260z 2+2

Hey everyone I’m new to the club and have literally just got my first Z. A lovely 260z 2+2 in need of restoration. I’m looking forward to getting the spanners out and getting her on the road so any tips or advice will be well received. She’s come from California so luckily minimal rust, but...
