I’ve got (ok it’s the wife's daily vs my Skoda Fabia vRS 🥴) Stelvio QV with a remap so just under 600BHP. We’ve had it 3 years, longer than any other car, it’s a complete beast and great daily car with exception of 20mpg!. With AWD it can take most super cars with 0-60 c4 secs
Errrmmm... I don't think that's the point.

How about this one? One of my cars.

240Z I am selling is a nice sorted car and well worthy of consideration.
Swapping the BV8 into any deal is a possibility if any interest.

ps. What Alfa do you have Kieron? I've also got a 916 GTV in the stable and just about to add a mint low mileage 1985 33.

Hi, that looks very much the sort of thing I'm looking for... I've been looking through the classifieds and have a lot to digest, and need to climb that learning curve.. My initial problem is finding a local car/owner to learn from.. It's a long way from anywhere from west Cumbria.

Specialists for just about anything other than a land rover is the exception rather than the rule. I travel to south of Preston for the mgb, honda and Alfa today, so need to figure that out before buying.

Yes, if it comes to a deal folding the 'vimto v8' into it would make life easier, need to get the B ready as well the MOT will be no problem ..

The 260 for sale from MAD automotive I think was yours too, looks lovely.

I'm flat out & away with work much of.the rest of the week, but have plenty of bedtime reading to keep me going! When I'm clearer in my mind what I am looking for would you have some better pics/details?

Thanks, Simon.

You don't really need a specialist to look after the Z as they are mechanically simple with parts readily available (although sometimes it's a choice between buying in the UK with convenience coming at a higher price or importing from the States and occasionally Japan). RockAuto in the States have most consumable parts and ordering/delivery is quick and easy to the UK. More specialised items can be ordered from one of the US parts specialists such as Z Car Depot or Motor Sport Auto etc. There are two main 'so called' Z specialists in the UK, one is nearer to you in Yorkshire and the other is in Kent. One of them I believe deservedly has a much better reputation but is a long way from you ;)

If original rhd is important to you be very careful as to what you are looking at in front of you. Many were historically patched up from MOT to MOT over the years. The parts availability is/was not like the MGB where you can get anything from a complete shell to a wing off the shelf. The situation is now much better than it used to be with a company in South America producing a decent range of pattern parts which can be bought in Europe but restoration costs are not cheap anywhere these days, hence an original HS30 rhd car that has been nicely restored will have a premium and in the UK will be 25-30% more expensive than the equivalent condition lhd HLS30 car.

Personally I prefer cars that have mostly/all original metalwork with exceptions made for dog leg and at a push floorpan replacement if done nicely and this usually means looking at lhd imported cars if budget is in the average price range. You can do a RHD conversion if bothered although some parts are becoming scarce such as dashboards. Prices have softened in line with the general classic car market over the last 12/18 months but you still need to be looking around £30k as a minimum for any car that is ready to go and in worthwhile but not perfect condition.

Will take on board your request for better photos in the advert ;) They were taken by my transport person on dropping off the car with storage guys in the Midlands but as I am out of the country for a while now, will have to rely on someone elses camera skills.

ps. The MAD car has been for sale for some time now and is not/never has been one of my cars, where did you get that snippet of mis-information from?. It seems a reasonable price for an original rhd UK car but would advise looking at it carefully.

Thanks all, for the welcome and responses....
my time with the B has probably spoilt me over parts availability.. any number of places for just about any part... Though as for pricey parts I'm well used to it with my s2000 and Alfa 916 GTV, so as long as it's in that ballpark all is good...

My plan is to buy as best as I can, not concours but well sorted and do around 2000 miles a year.. I'm interested in the green car, having read the thread, I understand there is an issue with the history of the car and lack of info as to how/who did the RHD conversion, both of which will/may affect value. The big question is - is the car itself solid, and rebuilt to a good standard. Looking at eBay, car & classic etc, there are other cars in that price ballpark, some lhd yet to be converted.. However the car was there before last September and it still hasn't sold, that's raising queries in my mind..

It's a learning exercise and any help is appreciated...

Im selling both my zeds at the moment . https://zclub.net/community/index.p...llling-one-of-my-zeds-blue-73-white-70.30326/

Im near Near Northallerton - across the A66 - and about 20 minutes away from the z farm too.

Ive been a club member here for a fair while.

Even if you werent interested in one of my cars but wanted to see two together - you d be welcome to have a look - give you something to benchmark the market on before you start trecking all over the country .

If you are just looking however - i would feel obliged to charge a small fee in the form of some biscuits to go with a brew.

Chris - Apologies - just re read the thread - where someone asked about a car, you replied to someones reply but that person had said - buy this one instead linked to a different car (yours) than the original car..

Hi, I'd be very interested in taking a look at your cars that's a very kind offer thankyou.

I do like the look of your blue car, and it's on the list with chrisvega's silver one. I may not be ready to buy in time, but it would be good to see in the metal...

If I am buying privately I have the mgb to move on first, MOT is now booked for the earliest slot I can get/fit in with work which is the 12th.

Biscuits, cake whatever works for me! Hobnobs or Jaffa cakes?

I'm in Ulverston, so it's only a quick schlep across the Pennines. When works for you?
